The Lucy Idol Center provides services designed for each client, individually, to assist them in realizing their fullest potential. With firm dedication to the delivery of professional services and sincere concern for the well-being of all our clients, our mission is to help prepare disabled individuals to function as independently as possible in the social, personal, and occupational aspects of their lives – as all people are capable of personal growth and development.

Transportation Programs
- Wheelchair accessible vans
- Transportation to and from the center, to doctors, dentists, and social programs
Individual Programs
- Diagnosis and Assessment by a licensed psychologist
- Nursing care by a licensed, registered nurse
- Physical therapy by a licensed physical therapist
- Qualified staff to supervise classrooms of 6-10 clients
- Quality assurance and behavior management review
- Development of an “Individual Service Plan” with a 90-day review and an annual “ISP” review and evaluation
Social Programs
- Group trips and assemblies
- Weekly swimming and bowling
- Daily exercise
- Art and music programs
- Birthday and holiday events
The Lucy Idol Center is certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. The center receives funds from the Lorain County Board of Mental Health and the United Way of Greater Lorain County.
